The council have been hard at work each morning this week decorating our smiley faced gingerbread men to celebrate and raise awareness for the National Mental Health and Well-being week.
We hope you have enjoyed them.
The school council have interviewed the children who applied to be Reading Treasures.
After reading their application forms we set them a task of Reading out loud to us. We were so impressed that they all assed their interviews and are ALL now Reading Treasures. Well done to all the children who applied.
Our first democracy day.
Today we had our first ever democracy day.
Everyone in school should be very proud of the school council today. They explained how to vote excellently and explained the choices better than any of the adults did. So a big well done.
This picture shows the council counting the votes and they made sure EVERY VOTE counted and right.
Attendance reward.
We will be watching our attendance reward movie in the last week of term. We voted that we would be watching elf, but when I looked we can’t watch a pg film in school so we will have a vote next week to decide which Christmas film to watch. We have put the choices up, so get thinking. Also Mr Murphy will tell you some interesting news in assembly this Friday.
School attendance.
We had the best year we have ever had last year.
The Local Authority has rewritten the guidance for Education Penalty Notices and we are holding a coffee morning on Tuesday 1st October to go through with a member of the School Attendance Service. All are welcome.
We will be having our first official school council meeting next week.
A big agenda to follow, but we already need to discuss single use plastics, dojo prizes.
If there is anything you want us to talk about to make the school better please speak to your class councillors
